Tchaikovsky's famous "Swan Lake" is performed in the highly atmospheric setting of the Baths of Caracalla. The cast: Irina Dvorovenko, Maxim Beloserkovskij, Laura Comi, Mario Marozzi, Sadaise Arencibia, Fabio Grossi, Lorna Fejoo and Igor Yebra. An opera in four acts based on the libretto by Temistocle Solera and set to music by the great Giuseppe Verdi. The Orchestra and Choir of the Teatro dell'Opera also take part. Puccini's Turandot is a three act opera based on the libretto by Giuseppe Adami and Renato Simoni. It is a stripped down and condensed version of the opera and is certainly more accessible. The "OperaOggi" company brings this piece around Italy. The cast: Katarina Nikolic (Carmen), Massimiliano Tonsini (Josè), Gabriele Ribis (Escamillo), Arianna Ballotta (Micaela), Francesco Biscione (Lillas Pastia) and Fortunato Cerlino (Zuniga). The orchestra is lead by Nicoletta Conti. Scenery and costumes are by Justin Arienti. The lighting is by Giuseppe Di Iorio.
