Puccini's Turandot is a three act opera based on the libretto by Giuseppe Adami and Renato Simoni. The cast includes Antonello Palombo (who alternates in the role with Warren Mok), Giovanna Casolla, (alternating with Francesca Patanè), and Michail Ryssov, (alternating with Alfredo Zanazzo). A double bill at the Baths of Caracalla. The evening starts with "Pagliacci", a dramatic opera in two acts based on the libretto and music by Ruggero Leoncavallo and is followed by Prokofiev's "Romeo and Juliet Suites". This outdoor nocturnal musical event set in the grounds below the ancient Teatro di Marcello has become a Rome tradition. International musicians and musical groups will perform classical pieces by Bach, Mozart, Chopin, but also music inspired by Pink Floyd and the Beatles rather than Tenco and De André... The piano will be the series' great protagonist but also the guitar, cello and excellent vocal performances will feature. www

A traditional summertime event specifically aimed at those who love the popular songs and ditties of the Roman tradition. The theme for 2007 will be Rome's festivals and religious traditions and feature three remarkable female singers - Giorgia Fini, Elisabetta Tulli and Simona Spadaccia - directed by Paolo Gatti. It will be impossible for us to forget songs like "Notte de dolcezza", "Barcarolo Romano", "Nina si voi dormite", or the more recent repertoire by artists such as Baglioni, Venditti, Califano and Minghi...
