Until 7 May: Erlich and Dessì
Dessì is one of the more notable figures of contemporary abstractionism. His creations blend luminous effects and the use of strong substances and materials such as bitumen and tar. They also play with colour in such a way as to create symbols that must be decoded in order to encode reality according to a new perspective. Erlich has created a series of very striking installations for MACRO, such as the piece called 'Doors', made up of a sequence of four rooms. The rooms are dark but the light that one can see under the door of each one gives the illusion of lighting and illumination. Another piece called 'Batiment' was shown at the Nuit Blanche event in Paris in 2004 and gives onlookers the impression of climbing up a building. Tue-sat h9-19; sun h9-14. €1

From 3 to 31 May: Art & game
Marco de' Micheli talks eloquently of neuroses, manias and compulsions in his paintings and installations. In his work bourgeois formalism and consumerism merge with unavoidable expressionist ramifications. This exhibition is like a circus of everyday objects - rusty pieces of metal, stuccoes, photos, scent dispensers - which are transformed and used with irony and artistic intent.

French photographer Arnaud Lesage likes to shoot daily scenes that take place on the street. His most recent exhibition won the "Prix Fnac Européen" for photography. After years of little or no inspiration Lesage decided to look for a simple and minimalist graphic form for his work, a sort of minimum common denominator that diversifies into a different subject each time: a vertical and centred form that reproduces the human body. Until 31 May: Erwin Wurm
Ervin Wurm is all about conceptual art that is ironic, dynamic, soft and textured at the same time: sculptures that move, 'plump' forms halfway between inspiration and the finished form, the creations of the artist who merges techniques and barriers that traditionally are a mix between photography, video and performances or events. Wurm's inspiration comes from everyday objects such as bicycles, brooms, vegetables, balls and chairs. Tue-sat h9-19; sun h9-14. €1

Until 11 Jun: Pubblico pagante. Gli spettatori protagonisti della scena del Novecento(The paying public. Spectators as protagonists in 20th century theatre)
The relationship between the public and the actors was transformed after the fall of that fourth wall, separating the stage from the audience, a 'wall' that had been insurmountable up until the 1800s. This exhibition focuses in particular fashion on the performances that changed the existing theatrical tradition of Ronconi-Sanguineti, Martone and Porta. It is laid out in four sections: the birth of divismo and popular comic theatre; the epic season of the so-called Stabili (the permanent theatre companies), the revolution of Orlando Furioso and Masianello; street theatre and major popular events. An array of video materials supplied by RAI's Archives division completes the exhibition. Tue-sun h10-19

From 10 May to 16 Jul: Il colore si stende asciuga spessice, si riposa (Colour is applied, it dries, thickens and rests)
Tue-sun h11-19. €8, reduced €4,50
