The fifth edition of this international Photography Exhibition, and all its related events, is dedicated to a reinterpretation of the 1900s (identity, war, landscape, post-modernism and light) and to ascribing a popular role to photography. Held in one of the most symbolic Roman locations, this is an appointment not to be missed for anyone who loves literature. This year the most compelling contemporary Italian and international writers will take part, such as John Irving, Isabella Santacroce, Nadine Gordimer, Sandro Veronesi, Alessandro Baricco, Zadie Smith and José Saramago. These authors will read new texts written especially for the occasion and inspired by this year's theme of 'Natural versus Artificial'. Admission free

From 19 to 20 May: Dissonanze 2006. This is our visual music!
This revolutionary electronic music and digital art event returns to Rome and will take over the Palazzo dei Congressi for two days. The so-called parco artisti (artists' park) showcases the real spirit of the event and includes the participation of up-and-coming and established singers and bands who will all perform visual musical creations inspired by this year's theme. The Salone della Cultura (Hall of Culture) will host dance-oriented live and DJ-sets, the terrace will host experimental performances, while the Aula Magna will put on various exhibitions and other related events.
