The monumental appeal of the Palazzo del Campidoglio, the beauty of its gardens, the new location ascribed to the statue of Marcus Aurelius: finally there will be a chance to enjoy all this. The complex that Rome Mayor Veltroni defines "the house of all Romans" will open its doors to the public on a series of Sundays: 12 and 19 February for tourists, 5 and 19 March for senior citizens, and 2 and 23 April for children. h9-13. Sensoralia is a regular rendez-vous with new trends in the world of audio-visual art and with the most innovative artists on the contemporary arts scene. Twelve days of minimal house and techno music, extreme linguistic experimentation, tribal dances that satirise the work place, vegetables that are transformed into musical instruments, tribal and electronic sounds, and live improvisations and jamming. Among the many guests are, Enrico Ghezzi, the Societas Raffaello Sanzio, Alex Paterson and Thomas Fehlmann, and Donnacha Costello. h14 and h21

Istituto Giapponese di Cultura, via A. Gramsci, 74. Info 063224754
Until 18 Apr: Etica e società - Il cinema di Hiroshi Shimizu (Ethos and society - the cinema of Hiroshi Shimizu)
Shimizu witnessed the transition from silent movies to films with sound. In his films, the human being is always in the forefront and a special place is also ascribed to children and socially marginalised individuals. The locations he uses are real and never artificially constructed and as such provide a document on how the Japanese lived in the 1930s. h19. Admission free
