From 6 to 26 Feb: Equilibrio - festival della nuova danza (Equilibrio – the festival of new dance)
The festival dedicated to all the latest trends in dance is back, and some of the greatest choreographers and most innovative and talented artists working in dance are in attendance. Movement, theatre, tradition and experimentation: "Equilibrio" brings all this together through a programme of the most significant expressions of the art of dance around the world. Canadian artist Marie Chouinard, dancers Kettly Noel and Neilisiwe Xaba, Florentine choreographer Virgilio Sieni and Brazilian company Membros are just some of the performers, dancers, actors, researchers and hip hop artists that will make this edition of "Equilibrio" truly memorable.

The written word made into performance. Renowned authors will present their own work as part of musical, drama and dance performances. The authors featured are Vincenzo Cerami, Stefano Milioni, Vittoria Ottolenghi, Umberto Piersanti, Folco Quilici, Lello Savonardo, Sergio Soldani, Maria Luisa Spaziani, Cinzia Tani, Stefano Zecchi. Dance companies collaborating in the event include "Botega/GDO" and "Spellbound Dance Company" and the music is performed by the Accademia Filarmonica Romana and the Istituzione Universitaria dei Concerti. Contemporary art and archaeology come together in this multi-location and site-specific exhibition inspired by the many events hosted during the summertime Estate Romana festival. Stadiums, barracks, social housing and noble residences open their doors to the public and house artistic creations by the likes of talented artists Stefano Cagol, Paolo Chiasera, Marzia Migliora, Diego Perrone, Riccardo Previdi, Nico Vascellari and Zimmerfrei. Photos, installations, videos, interactive works explore the hidden sides of contemporary society.
